Wanderlust Travel Media — Taiwan Through the Local Lens

About This Project

Great places are not discovered through landmarks alone, but through the stories, people, and details that make them meaningful.

Commissioned by Wanderlust Travel Media Ltd., this editorial project focused on presenting Taiwan through a deeper perspective — exploring the relationship between landscape, culture, and everyday life.

Rather than simply documenting destinations, the project aimed to capture the character of each location and reveal the stories behind the places. Through photography, Taiwan was presented not only as a travel destination, but as a living environment shaped by history, tradition, and the people who continue to care for it.

The project involved visiting multiple locations across Taiwan, including mountains, temples, agricultural landscapes, and local communities. Among the selected images published in Wanderlust’s Taiwan feature were photographs from Qingtian Gang, Zhulinshan Guanyin Temple, Mei-jia Tea Garden, and Full Eco-Farm, showcasing Taiwan’s natural landscapes, cultural heritage, and sustainable local experiences.

Each location carried its own rhythm and identity. From the open grasslands of Yangmingshan to the quiet atmosphere of traditional temples, from tea cultivation in the mountains to the connection between farmers and the land, the photographs focused on creating a visual narrative that allowed international audiences to experience Taiwan beyond conventional tourism imagery.

The collaboration also represented an opportunity to contribute to Taiwan’s international storytelling through a global travel publication. By combining visual documentation with cultural understanding, the project demonstrated how thoughtful content can help places and communities become better understood by audiences around the world.

Special thanks to all organizations and locations that supported this project, including Zhulinshan Guanyin Temple,, Mei-jia Tea Garden, Qingtian Gang, Full Eco-Farm, and all local partners who shared their stories and welcomed the production team.
