2018—2024Living and working in Japan
Working across languages and markets changes how production is planned.
Before returning to Taiwan, Andy lived and worked in Japan from 2018 to 2024, developing experience across hospitality, tourism, culture and branded travel content. This experience informs how we handle communication gaps, align an overseas brief with local conditions and work with cultural context.
Andy’s work includes photography commissioned directly by Higashiyama Niseko Village, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, covering hotel, dining and spa environments. Other experience includes projects involving JNTO and FUN! JAPAN, travel-content commissions in Osaka and Universal Studios Japan, and Asahi-related content through FUN! JAPAN.

A photographer cancels, a crew member becomes unavailable, or a confirmed production changes unexpectedly and loses essential local support.
When availability allows, Moss & Grain assesses the remaining needs, identifies the gaps and rebuilds the local support required to continue.
Requests made within 72 hours are assessed case by case. Feasibility depends on location, scope, permits, crew, equipment and available preparation time. Rush fees and additional costs may apply.

Answers to the practical questions international teams most often need before planning a production.
01Do you work throughout Taiwan?
Yes. We support productions throughout Taiwan. Remote locations on the main island, offshore islands, specialist vehicles and overnight requirements are assessed and quoted separately.
02Can you support a visiting photographer or director?
Yes. We can support visiting photographers, directors and producers with local research, scouting, permits, equipment, crew, transport and on-site coordination, while the visiting team retains its core creative roles.
03Can you assist with transportation during production?
Yes. We can plan production routes and coordinate local transport. Dedicated vehicles, specialist transport, remote locations, offshore islands and overnight requirements are scoped separately.
04Can you provide English or Japanese communication?
Yes. We communicate directly in English, Chinese and Japanese. Professional interpreters can be arranged for other languages or specialist requirements.
05Can you arrange location permits?
Yes. We can assist with location enquiries, applications and permit coordination. Final approval remains subject to the location owner, relevant authorities, intended use and production schedule.
06Can you source equipment and local crew?
Yes. We can coordinate equipment rental and assemble a local crew around the production requirements. Specialist roles, larger crews and complex equipment packages are scoped separately.
07Can you arrange drone production?
Yes. We work with professional drone operators. Every request is assessed according to location, airspace, weather, permits and applicable regulations; flight cannot be guaranteed before those conditions are confirmed.
08Can you help source models or actors?
Yes. Model and actor sourcing can be coordinated according to the brief, usage, schedule and budget. Talent fees, releases and usage rights are defined for each production.
09Can you manage post-production?
Yes. Post-production may include image selection, retouching, editing, colour work, subtitles and multi-format delivery. Deliverables, versions, languages, revisions and schedule are defined in the project scope.
10How early should we contact you?
As early as possible. Advance planning improves access to locations, crew and equipment. Requests made within 72 hours of production are treated as urgent and assessed case by case.
11Do you accept urgent production requests?
When availability allows. Urgent requests are assessed case by case and may involve rush fees or additional costs. For production within 72 hours, submit the form and contact us by phone or Instagram.
