About This Project

Overview

At Chongyang Elementary School in New Taipei City, Dance Forum Taipei invited students to discover movement through play, imagination, and interaction.

This workshop was photographed one day before the Qianhua Elementary programme, continuing the same visual language while focusing on personal expression.

The Observation

Children rarely move with hesitation once they forget they’re being observed.

As confidence grows, every gesture becomes more open, more playful, and more expressive.

Our Thinking

Using dynamic perspectives and close proximity, we photographed the workshop from within the activity itself.

The result places viewers inside the energy, allowing movement and emotion to fill every frame.

The Outcome

Rather than documenting a dance lesson, the images capture children exploring confidence through movement.

Every expression feels genuine because every moment was.

Reflection

Sometimes the most memorable performance begins before anyone realizes they’re dancing.
