“Good design begins when we consider every person who experiences it.”
As a long-term supporter of the Taiwan Accessible Environment Design Association (AAEDT), we documented the 2025 Accessible Design Student Competition Award Ceremony, capturing a gathering centered around one shared vision — creating environments that allow everyone to participate.
Through the competition, students explored how design can respond to different needs in everyday life and rethink the relationship between people and spaces. Beyond recognizing outstanding works, the event also brought greater awareness to the importance of accessible and inclusive design in Taiwan.
The ceremony also invited Chien Chien to share her personal journey and experiences, reflecting on the challenges faced by people with disabilities and the importance of creating environments that are more considerate, flexible, and accessible.
Through photography, we aimed to preserve more than just the ceremony itself. We documented the conversations, emotions, and connections between designers, advocates, and participants who continue working toward a future where design becomes a bridge rather than a barrier.
