Illuminated Nebuta floats fill the dark galleries of WA RASSE in Aomori, photographed through scale, colour and the people encountering them.
Created for Fun Japan in 2023, the series pairs broad exhibition views with details of the figures and their structure. Visitors provide a sense of scale, while reflections and the contrast between lit displays and dark rooms describe the experience of moving through the museum.
