A ryokan photo series at Nishimuraya Hotel Shogetsutei in Kinosaki Onsen, centred on garden views, bathing spaces and quiet interiors.

Project overview

Created for Fun Japan in 2023, the photographs follow the relationship between timber rooms, framed greenery and open-air baths. Entrance details and short walks outside place the accommodation in its surroundings, while changes in light and material give each interior a distinct atmosphere.
